About The Festival
MISSION & OBJECTIVE
The 3-Minute Film Festival seeks to promote filmmaking by providing a juried exhibition where amateurs, students and professionals can compete in an accessible format. By limiting films to 3 minutes or shorter, the festival creates an opportunity for amateurs to hone their skills and professionals to show off their chops.
ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
The 3-Minute Film Fest was founded in 2000 by Jerry Barron in Santa Fe, NM. The event was intended to promote and encourage local and regional filmmaking by providing a juried exhibition. Focusing exclusively on films 3 minutes or shorter, the festival allowed novices and amateurs to compete alongside professionals and commercial artists. The Festival immediately began to attract international attention and now receives hundreds of entries annually from around the world.
